Henry Clifford Kinley (born September 30, 1896 - died February 9, 1976) was the Founder and Dean Emeritus of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research for 45 years. There are currently several branch schools established world-wide. Kinley is the author of Elohim the Archetype (Original) Pattern of the Universe originally published in 1961, as well as several historical charts.
Illustrations documenting how Elohim IS the Archetype Pattern of the Universe were created and have been presented around the world to many of the top scientific, religious and political leaders of the 20th century, as well as to thousands of laymen around the world. These charts represent how the Universal Pattern is Yahweh-Elohim (God), and how the so-called Laws of Nature can be understood through events of the bible, anatomy and physiology, physics, cosmology, the natural sciences and current events.

Elohim the Archetype (Original) Pattern of the Universe, 1961
by Dr. Henry Clifford Kinley
Inasmuch as we seek and desire to explain and show our concept and understanding of WHO ELOHIM (GOD) IS…WHAT, WHERE, WHEN and HOW HE created or formed the Angelic Host and the Heaven and Earth, it is also necessary that we produce sufficient, concrete evidence that our concept is both Theologically and Scientifically verified by other witnesses.
We have previously propounded, to some extent, that Yahweh is Spirit (see John 4:24). That is to say, Yahweh is the Ultimate Source, Infinite and Immaculate Substance, the Incomprehensible and Inscrutable Principle, the ALL IN ALL, an Eternal, Independent, Self-existing Deity without visible shape or form (see Deut. 4:12 and John 5:37). Therefore, He is, within Himself, the sum total embodiment of “ALL” of the attributes of Intelligence and Wisdom, Knowledge and Power, Mercy and Justice, Law and Order, Love and Beauty, Life and Truth, etc.
However, in this state or condition He is, or rather was inconceivable. Therefore, with the desire to Create the Heaven and Earth and thereafter manifest His existence to all that in them is; it was of His own volition necessary for Him to “FIRST” take on Super “INCORPOREAL FORM” (in part) which would be better known and understood by the name “Messiah or Christ” (….the “TRUE BEGINNING” of the Creation of Yahweh (see Rev 3:14). In this condition He was the Universal Archetype Pattern of Everything…
Early Life & Ministry
Kinley was born in Muhlenberg County, Greenville, Kentucky to Ada Luvenia Higgins and George Edward Kinley. After moving to Springfield, Ohio, his father worked as a drayman at Wickham & Chapman Piano Plate Company on Sheridan Avenue. Clifford left school during the 6th grade to work at the foundry with his father and later became a master molder at Wickham & Chapman. During his spare time Kinley became proficient in boxing, training horses with his father and an accomplished inventor--selling a few of his inventions to his employer.
Kinley entered the Ohio National Guard during World War I and joined the Holiness Church, the Church of God on Innisfallen Ave in Springfield, Ohio. He quickly advanced in the ministry becoming an Assistant Pastor (under Pastor Elder Williams), as well as, a member of the General Council. He was appointed over the Healing Services, the Youth Ministry, and was well-known as a healer and preacher. As far south as Tennessee, he was known as a "walking bible" or bibliomaniac, quoting chapter and verse to anyone who started reading anywhere in the bible. Over the years he became a member of the Masonic Order (3rd Degree) and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F).
On March 27, 1916 Henry Clifford Kinley married Katie Mae Glenn. From 1917 to 1928 Clifford and Katie bore eight children: Clifford, Jr., Richard, Katie, R.P., Arlena, Rachel, Glenn and Jack.
Archetype Pattern of the Universe
The school of the IDMR came into existence as a result of a Divine Vision and Revelation that Kinley claimed to have received instantaniously from Yahweh-Elohim on June 6, 1931. Dr. Kinley knew that it wouldn’t do any good to go out into the world and convey the message that Yahweh had given to him without verifiable and consistent proof and illustration.
The first chart was successfully created on a bed sheet in 1932. The chart was named by Dr. Kinley as the “Chart on the Pattern or Plan of Salvation”, otherwise known to the school’s students as the “Elementary Chart”, and was illustrated according to a three-fold pattern. The second chart that was made was entitled “Elohim the Archetype (Original) Pattern of the Universe”, otherwise known as the “Moses Chart”, documenting the Pattern's operation in the Universe or Earth plane--the Greater and More Perfect Tabernacle as expressed by the Apostle Saul.
Additional illustrations on how man is made in the image and likeness of the creator as expressed in Genesis 1 & 2. These illustrations were created in the 1940s but standardized in the 1950s after the membership of a local medical doctor helped to verify the importance of this archetypal correlation. All of these charts (as well as others) are similar to the ones copied and used in all of the schools today.
Springfield Interdenominational Bible Ecclesia
In response to divisions within mankind, the Springfield Interdenominational Bible Ecclesia was formed in 1932 in Springfield, Ohio. The organization dedicated itself to people of all colors, nationalities and creeds, from any caste, and regardless of gender in an effort to form a “Universal Brotherhood of Humanity in Yahshua the Messiah”. Initial meetings were held through cottage meetings in the homes of interested family and friends in the community.
Kinley Divinity School
On October 11, 1935 the Kinley Divinity School was legally incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State of Ohio, County of Clark for a $25 filing fee. The Articles of Incorporation listed several trustees and a purpose:
...is not for profit but to promote the cause of the Christian religion; to operate a school to prepare students for the ministry and laymen for scientific study to better understand and serve both God and their fellowmen...
Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research
Another name change for the bible school came in the 1940’s while the founder was living in Cincinnati. The school was renamed the Kinley Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research, Incorporated (K.I.D.M.R.I) and the duties of headquarters was held between those in Springfield and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Several years later, in 1958, after the migration to Los Angeles, California, headquarters was moved once again. The school was legally established as a separate organization and renamed the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research. The Kinley Institute was then dissolved in Ohio and all schools became branches of the Institute in California.
